This is what I did when my Spam got out of control. I got two new addresses.
For the first one, I never enter my e-mail address at a Website except those
I trust will not share, or sell, my address to others. Banking, Credit Card
Company, Phone Company on-line bill paying etc. I have had this address for about a year and have never received any Spam, and have no message rules to block any Spam.
The second address, I use at sites I believe will share my address. Buying things online such as ink cartridges, etc. Since these sites will send confirmations, they will be addressed to me, and only me, so I have two messages rules.
1. If the To line does not contain my address, Delete it from the server. This will block any mail with my address in the CC or BCC line.
2. If the To line contains any letter not in my address, (entered into the rule one at a time), Delete it from the server.
Now I receive no Spam on the primary account, and very little on the secondary account since most Spam is sent to multiple addresses.
And, of course, never use your true address when posting to a newsgroup. Change the domain name to .invalid.

I'm considering changing my e-mail address, and taking other steps to cut down the damn spam that loads my mailbox daily. My present numerous mail rules, and blocked senders aren't sufficient to handle things.
I would keep the old e-mail address until I felt I had covered sending messages back to all senders that I want to keep active.
Is there a "simple/convenient" way to send a fixed message to all the senders in a given folder of received messages, without manually dong a "reply" to each sender? If so, I could start accumulating a folder with messages that I receive, and where I want to advise the senders of my new address.
I know that I can generate a "group" in my address book, of all the people in there, and send that out in one shot. But I do get e-mails from many places that aren't in my address book. So, I'd like to automate that also, if possible.
And, are there any good tips on creating a new e-mail address to maximize the blockage against the spammers who use machine generated e-mail addresses by the millions.
Also, what are some good tips to use as an e-mail adjustment when listing one's address on forums, et al? Does JohnSmithnospam@xxxxxxxxxxxx really work? People trying to send a personal message in that case, would know to remove the "nospam". But I'd guess that the sappmers would also.
So, would something JohnSmith-removethis@xxxxxxxxxxxx work better?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Ron Hirsch
