Hi J.S.,
You could try setting up shop in a new OE identity. This will give a new
message store and registry entries. Check back to see if someone can give
instructions for a repair of the one now in use.
Messages can be imported from the first identity.
When all is complete setting up the second identity the first can be
removed.

Just to provide additional information about this problem.
I deleted the account from my accounts lists but it still shows up in
myfolders list on the left side of the screen. The newsgroups above the
empty line are gone but the one with the empty line and the opthers below it
are still there.
