Hi TigerKubb,
Without knowing the newsgroup in question it is hard to provide an informed
answer. Is the use of an HTML rich text messages common in the newsgroup? A
red x will occur if HTML content is blocked by others in the group. If the
problem is limited to one group, but is not present in other groups the
problem is likely not with your PC or Outlook Express. As a workaround you
could try attaching the picture when posting in the one problem group. Those
using OE will see the picture below the text of the message.
You could examine the source code of one of the problem posts to see if a
problem can be spotted there. Do not remove SP2 just for this issue.

In one of the newsgroups I belong to everyone says that when I post pictures
using the insert feature all they see is a red x. All my settings are
correct. I have deleted temp files and deleted all sent and deleted mail. I
have even deleted the .dbx files and nothing works. Someone suggested to
remove the sp2 from my system. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
I have Windows XP Home and my mail is Outlook Express 6.0 Thanks in
advance.....
