Default identity

Hello there, I just installed SP2 on my XP Home and am now having trouble
with my Outlook Express. When I click on the link to initialize the mail
program, I get an "Identity Login" window that comes up and states there is
no current identity and to select an identity from the box. There is no
button to set the identity as default as other help articles have stated.
There is a box to check to set as the identity to open the mail with, the
identity I wish to use is highlighted, but I still get the Login window every
time I try to access Outlook. Am I missing something?
Thanks
.
