My Kids Deleted History

I have found out that my kids have deleted the internet history.

I had a friend tell me that I can
click "start" then "run" and type in a file name that will lead me where I
can access the internet options settings. Evidently the history is never
erased here.

Can someone point me in that right direction. My friend didnt know the file
name.
