OE closes automatically

After I type the body of a fairly lengthy message or I try to attach a file
to an email, OE shuts down automatically and i lose everything. THis is
happening to different users and i'm not quite sure why. any ideas?? i
think i might remember this being a bug but cant remember and cant find
anything on the MS website
