Re: Send Mail Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E-help!

I am having a similar problem but all the solutions I have researched don't
seem to work. The funny thing is that I can send and receive mail fine using
Squirrel Mail which was set up as alternate option by adminstrator.
Everything has worked fine until the last couple of days, and now I can't
send email through OE:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mx.2007.org', Server:
'mx.2007.org', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error:
10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
I have tried everything including uninstalling and reinstalling Norton
Internet Security. I had followed the directions by Symantec about disabling
email scanning and modfying the antispam settings appropriately. That helped
me resolve a previous issue where it was convinced I was trying to encrypt
messages or something to that effect, but that was resolved a couple of
months ago.
Also my adminstrator said he could not even seem to detect my attempts to
send mail on the account when I used Outlook Express today. When I
reinstalled Norton, I of course we had done the modifications to email
scanning and all that again.
thanks,
David
