Disable all email scanning and reset the server back to what it should be.

Received a test email from daughter's OE (vice using Comcast webmail) at the new Identity set up as recommended by DGuess. Is this indicative of the problem Steve Cochran has suggested as I updated from NSW Pro 2003 to Norton NSW 2005 Premier since late May (approx 3 weeks prior to the problem)?
Would rather not make permanent switch to new Identity and would like to try the resolution Steve suggests. Being a non-tech person have a question about the recommended procedure at msconfig: If I disable all startup items what will be left for the reboot? (At the Startup tab I have what I presumed were all the items; are there others I can't see? Admit my lack of tech knowledge makes me concerned that disabling everything at the tab could result in an unwanted situation).
Does disabling all startup items really mean unchecking every item shown there? Or do I leave the C:\WINDOWS items?
Also I use POPFile U/I from SourceForge for spam and it requires my OE account Server tab for Incoming POP3 be set to 127.0.0.1 and that is where the new Identity is set. Will that result in any problem with this reboot?
Sorry, but I need to be led by the hand; seems weird to this tech-challenged user that only two Senders are affected out of the entire WAB.
Steve Cochran wrote:There is a long history of Norton and other antivirus programs causing major problems with OE's message store and settings (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3). I suspect you have that problem here with the newest messup by Norton. Try going to Start | Run and type msconfig and disable all startup items AND non-MS services (such as Norton) and then reboot. Then go to Tools | Accounts | Mail Properties and make sure that all the settings are correct. Sometimes its easier to remove the mail account completely, close OE, then reopen it and set up the account again to fix what Norton has messed up in those settings.
See if that fixes the problem.

Our computer was shut down during one week visit to their location; situation has existed since restart.
They do not receive any 'blocking' messages and their addresses are not denied by Message Rules, Blocked Sender entries, ZA free firewall or Norton NSW 2005 Premier on this computer. They have been forced to resort to using Comcast webmail for sending; they receive all our emails at Outlook Express.
Investigation by Comcast reveals zero problems; all their other contacts send and receive from the OE accounts. Our computer gets mail from all other contacts. Review by Earthlink does not find any problems. Email addresses have been deleted from Addee Book and re-entered with no change. Computers have been disconnected from the hub and fed directly by the incoming cable; no change. Am unable to ferret out anything that may have caused this condition.
What hair remains on this old head is fast being torn out. Any suggestions? (Other than jumping off a cliff). Thanks in advance.
