Re: Archive attribute not set for modified .dbx files

Thank you Steve and Robear for you posts. Sorry I'm late with this post since
I wasn't notified about comments on my posted question and I was expecting to
be.

I'm Using OE 6 on my Windows XP SP 2 'work' PC.
My home PC is running Widows 2000, SP 4 (I don't know what OE version since
I'm currently 'at work').

For more than a year, I've (successfuly) been keeping my work and home PC
files synchronized. In particular, I keep the same OE folders on both PC's so
I can read / write my email from either PC.

I've been doing this between two WIN 2K PC's, and currently between a Win 2K
and a Win XP PC.

I'm only doing this with my D drives so there's no corruption of my
operating system ('C' drive) files.

--->backup procedure
At the 'end of the day' the current PC's files that have changed since the
last restore process are copied to a flash drive using the Microsoft ROBOCOPY
utility. The '/A' flag is used to copy only those files with the Archive
attribute set.

--->restore procedure
At the 'beginning of the day' the files from the other PC are copied to the
current PC from the flash drive using the Microsoft ROBOCOPY utility.

After the files have been restored, all the 'D' drive file Attribute flags
are set OFF, e.g.

attrib -A D:\main_folder_1\*.* /S
attrib -A D:\main_folder_1\*.* /S
attrib -A D:\etc..........\*.* /S

--------

P.S. I've distorted the process to simplify the explanation. In fact, a 'D'
drive work folder is created, zipped, and then copied to two flash drives for
redundancy.

I can't use last-modifed-date instead of the Archive flag because,
- in some instances, the date is unchanged when the Archive flag is set,
e.g. when a file is copied from one folder to another.
- I'll work on both PC's in the same day
