David,
when your problem developed?
In my case, it happened immediately after the EarthLink upgrade. About a two
weeks ago, they sent me email advising that because of the upgrade on Sunday
early morning there will be no emails coming or going. After that, the
message said, I will be reconnected to the upgraded server automatically.
However, when on that Sunday afternoon I wanted to check my mail, I could
not get connected. Call to the EarthLink tech support revealed that before
connecting to the upgraded server I have to change the server name and the
port number and to set up a new account. So much for "automatic"
reconnection. Unfortunately, since then, my OE has a problem.
