Re: KB837009 update problem

You can't do Step 3 without first doing Step 2. In it's foggy way, the error in Step 3 is telling you that 823353 supersedes the update you want to install (837009).

Most likely you can't uninstall 837009 cos you "renamed the Windows Update folder." Can you perform Step 2 (and then Step 3, etc.) if you "rename it back" first?

I know you tried "reinstalling the OE part again" but have you tried overinstalling both IE and OE, as I suggested and exactly as I outlined?...

Cannot do that, uninstaller quits.

Still get the same error message that I need to have SP1 installed. I
thought that this is what I have been trying to install. Here is the
link for what I have downloaded:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/1/0/81030a34-d638-494c-aaaa-9babb069304a/OE6.0sp1-KB837009-x86-ENU.exe

I am using 98SE.

The version I have of IE6setup.exe is 6.00.2800.1106. I tried
reinstalling the OE part again without any success with the KB837009
update problem. Is there another place where I can get a newer version
of IE6 to try? Thanks
