MS Outlook and solid POP3 server incompatibilities!

Hi Folks,
I posted this message to the newsgroup of SQWebmail developers:
========
"I'm having some nasty problems with SQwebmail, and I was hoping to
be able to get some help from this list. I'm using a combination of
SQwebmail and MS Outlook Express 6.0 to read my mail.
I can download all my current INBOX emails down to my PC fine. I have
also used SQWebmail to send mail, but when I move these sent emails to
my SQWebmail INBOX, and then try and download them, the MS OUTlook
Send/receive window displays "Connecting" then "Authorising", followed
by the LOGON window.
If I click OK, the software just keeps going through these three steps.
If I click cancel, the following message is displayed
"There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was
rejected. Account: 'mail.xx.yyyyy.net.au', Server:
'mail.xx.yyyyy.net.au', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR message
is damaged', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90,
Error Number: 0x800CCC92"
I've contacted my ISP, and they have told me that it is caused because
the message was corrupted. But then I can easily move the message out
of my SQWEBMAIL inbox to my other folders and back again. It does not
appear to be damaged to me!!!"
=====
The response was:
=====
"The string "message is damaged" does not occur anywhere in
courier-imap.
Whatever POP3 server you're using, it's not one which this list
supports.
You can try:
telnet mail.xx.yyyy.net.au 110
(look at the +OK response)
CAPA
(look for an IMPLEMENTATION response)
QUIT
to try to guess what POP3 server they're running at your ISP.
A google search for "-ERR message is damaged" (including the quotes)
suggests that it may be a server called "Solid"
=======
In response to this post I replied
========
"I did the telnet command, and the Telnet window appeared.
The first line stated :
+OK Solid POP3 server ready"
=====
Their response was
=====
"Congratulations. You have found an incompatibility between Microsoft
Outlook and Solid POP3 server. Please contact either Microsoft or
whoever writes the Solid POP3 server."
=====
I've tried to find and contact the people who wrote the Solid POP3
server, but they seem to be very anonymous people indeed. I've tried
to contact MS, but they ignore me.
Does anyone have any suggestions on this one? This problem is soooo old
- I've seen posts from 2001 with people who have had this problem
with different versions of MS email sw, but no one seems to have a clue
as to the cause or solution.
