cancel a partially sent message

Hello All,
Using Outlook Express I sometimes accidently try to send an email message
that is larger than I want to sent (like with a large file attached). Is
there a way to cancel this once the sending process has started? I tried
replacing outbox.dbx from the offending identity with outbox.dbx from
another identity, but that did not stop it.
I read a past thread on this topic using Outlook, and a Microsoft MVP said
that it could not be done without purposely crashing Outlook (however you do
that), but then another person said that they had done it. So, what is the
situation with Outlook Express?
TIA,
Tom
.
