We are 100% volunteer. We were helped in the past and just feel like giving back to help others. See: http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/
For your problem:
Error 0x800ccc0d or 0x800ccc0f or 0x800ccc19 when Receiving or Sending E-Mail http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813514
Turn off the e-mail scanning in your anti-virus. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/pfdocs/2001082921552806?Open
You are still protected: http://snipurl.com/bmf6
If you have an Anti-Spam program, that can also be the cause of the error.

Sunday AM - I brought computer back to her in order to use cable (I have
dial-up.).
We went to msn home page and hit mail icon - opens Outlook Express. Tried to
receive/ send mail - got the following Error message(s):
** Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes
for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'mail.adelphia.net', Server: 'mail.adelphia.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure (SSL): No, Error number: 0x800CCC0F.
** (same exact wording as above except:) Protocol: POP3, Port:110, (same
to end).
I didn't have time to do anything more.
Again, can use Internet OK, but can't update AdAware, SpyBot etc. (can't on
dial-up either). Also, computer is not shutting down on its own, but will
go into Standby OK.
Probably several problems here; I'm trying to take care of O.E. one first,
but maybe they're all intertwined.
Please be patient with replies as I do this "on the side", and will probably
only be able to reply in evenings.

Horse hockey! What happens when she tries to send/receive?

Running either w/out current database is a waste of time IMO.

Configure NAV to seek upates daily at a time when the machine is usually
running and connected to the 'net. Also configure it to run a full system
scan shortly after seeking/installing updates (also daily). Anything less
is simply insufficient these days.
