Any *exact* error messages?
His current Identity may be damaged?
Have him try one of his accounts in a new Identity first off,
OE>File>Identities>Add new identity. If all is well, import the messages
and other account details from the old Identity before deleting it
File>Identities>Manage Identities.
Don't use default folders, Inbox, Sent Items etc to archive messages. Move
them to local folders created for the purpose.
Have him turn off email scanning by his AV prog', it serves no useful
purpose & is known to cause folder corruption in OE.
HTH?
