OS Upgrade (98 to XP Pro) results in Outlook Express error

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

After upgrading from Windows 98 to Windows XP Pro, I select the 'Create
Mail' button from OutLook Express and get the following message: The
feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk
that is not available. Insert the 'Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Small
Business disk and click OK.

I insert the proper disk, select OK and get the following message: The
path 'Microsoft Office 200 Small Business' cannot be found. Verify that
you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the
installation package 'Data1.msi' in a folder from which you can install
the product Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Small Business.

Upon reviewing the CDROM on d:\ drive, the file 'data1.msi' is at the
root location. It looks like both Outlook Express and Outlook are both
affected by the OS upgrade. Any suggestions for a fix would be
appreciated. I attempted to run the installation from the disk only to
get the following message: Windows Installer - Another version of this
product is already installed. Installation of this versino cannot
continue. To configure or remove the existing versino of this product,
use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel.

Any suggestions appreciated.
