Re: Window Blinks

Yes, occasionally the scrollbar jumps and the cursor moves to places on the
page that were out of sight.

I'm unable to disable the touchpad via the Control Panel, but can do it via
the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System). Not sure which key you use, but on my
Dell, when I power on the laptop, a message briefly flashes, "Press F2 to
enter BIOS" (I've seen the word STARTUP used in place of BIOS on some
machines). I tap the F2 key, and the BIOS screen appears. If you opt to
try this, read each page carefully before changing something. On page 4 of
the BIOS (use the combination of ALT+P keys to change pages), The Dell has
an option to disable the touchpad, and select the mouse-type that's being
used - e.g. serial or PS-2. You're using a PS-2 mouse. I'll cursor down to
that option, and use the left (<---) or right (--->) arrow keys to change
the selection. Then simply exit, choosing to save your changes, and the
laptop will continue to boot, with the touchpad being disabled.

Whether you do it this way or via the Control Panel, you should try it just
to see if the problem disappears. My personal opinion is that if the
problem 'goes away', the touch panel is at fault, and needs to be
fixed/replaced because it's too sensitive - especially since your PC's only
2 months old - just a baby ( :>).

Let me know what happens.
