Modem Ani is correct that the best information may come from
your ISP (or its help site <eg>).

However for an educated guess about what to do in the meantime
try unchecking SSL (in Properties, Advanced tab)
or letting the port default to the proper port for secure connections.
FYI port 25 is the default for standard (unsecure) SMTP connections.

I haven't checked your case explicitly but here is what I found
for a previous poster who had a similar symptom.

Also, in case you are having similar problems with your POP3
connection note that it's possible that with it SSL should be checked
but perhaps should be allowed to use the default secure POP3 port.

BTW I was actually responding to another poster's comments about
the problem (in case the quoting and wording seem a bit strange.)

telnet smtphm.sympatico.ca 25

responded:

(apparently it is in BC)

So checking SSL was probably an error.

Also

telnet pophm.sympatico.ca 995

connected but of course I couldn't do anything with it because
telnet can't support a secure connection. So, if those names
could have been used the POP3 setting should have had
SSL checked.
