I've tried The Bat, Thunderbird, Eudora, M2 and a few other email clients... problem is, they all SUCK. The only one I ever used that didn't suck was OE. But in terms of security, its legendary in how much it sucks. I know that SP2 implemented some improvements in security for OE, but I'm guessing that's a finger in the dyke (no "dyke jokes" please, that's just witless and clicheed). I'm wondering if OE can be made as secure as ANYTHING, with the addition of 3rd party programs, or "tips and tricks" to ensure security. I'll even settle for "as secure as The Bat". At the very least, my Kaspersky anti virus works with OE databases, whereas it doesn't with most other programs. But I'm more concerned with exploits and things like that. I did a specific search for 3rd party security programs for OE and did not find anything. So what if I don't use address book feature, or is there some way to turn off HTML to avoid having my IP address or other info broadcast to the sender's site?
OE is secure now. If people are getting infected it is because they open infected attachements or use very old version of OE.
