Only because both Yahoo and Gmail implement an Internet standard protocol,
called POP3 (in Yahoo's case you have to pay them to get POP3 access), which
OE can use to download mail.
However, OE uses a propriety, non-standard protocol to access mail folders
in your Hotmail account. Microsoft includes custom-written code in OE that
allows it to open external folders specifically, and only, in Hotmail.
Even if someone were to figure out how to hack OE to access other competing
webmail services in the same fashion, they will be sued by Microsoft in a
heartbeat.
Your only option is to stop using OE, whose primary function isn't actually
to read your E-mail, but rather serve as an efficient platform for
distributing various viruses. Use an E-mail client that's built according
to Internet standards, such as Mozilla or Thunderbird, both of them can
easily manage folders in different mail accounts, simultaneously, with ease.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to use them to access Hotmail, because
Microsoft does not wish to provide standard POP3 or IMAP access to their
proprietary, non-standard, E-mail service.
So, you have to make a choice: either use only official Microsoft-owned
E-mail software, and webmail services. Or not. But not both, at the same
time. It's your choice to make.
