Re: error 501 while font dialogue box opens

All I can tell you is that the highlighting and right click to change Font
while in a HTML message or reply does not cause a similar error. I've tried
for months to duplicate it, using all variations of settings and have had no
success. You state that since you encounter the error also in safe mode,
that it's doubtful it is some some 3rd party software, but I'd disagree.
But that's your choice.

The other possible contributing factor could be that you installed the
update (887797) while an antivirus program was allowed to remain running in
the background and thus have a corrupted or "dirty" intall. I'd remove the
update, reboot, shut down any antivirus program and try a reinstall to see
if that would fix the problem.

And you failed to provide a list of installed software that might be causing
the problem. Good luck.
