I don't have AOL, I don't have anything to do with it.
But for some reason when I click on OE,  the AIM comes up too. It seems to have come with it or something. And the AIM thingy comes with a little mini-web page  with "interesting headlines" to make you click (and I"m sure it drops cookies, well yeh, it drops some aol and aim cookies). I delete cookies several times per day) I don't know why my OE has the AIM associated with it. I kind of thought Nutscape had that for a while, but I don't see it.lately.  I've been using Nutscape for mail and have had "real intenrnet" since it began. I ususally use IE to browse. Been "online" before the internet, too. Prodigy, BBS's, Elm, Pine, etc. Ummm how do I tell you this, but I disabled system restore many moons ago I don't like the files it accumulates, and it seems unreliable to me. I'm sure I'm not alone.
I will check those links, though. Thank  you.

    Hello "SD"!!

Here is one the Microsoft Link that deals with
    Help & troubleshooting OE.
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh%3BEN-US%3Boex
If log on toward the bottom of the page You should
read "Troubleshooting OE" See if You can get help there.

Another Idea is to System Restore to a date before OE quit
    working,
System Restore is reversible, it allowes to restore back and
    fort.
One more thing, don't take my word but In Newsgroups discussions,
sofar I never read anything positive, or good about  "AOL"

    Good Luck        x@y.

It's the only program that's doing this, that I can see..
It is true that I need to defrag.
It will take a long time though. Maybe days.
I am runnimg XP Pro on a 750 Ghz machine + DSL.
    80 gig hd (says 45 G free).
No virii, no spyware. Plenty ram (I built this thing 5 years
    ago).
I had been using "Norton" Speedisk, till it started to get
    "stuck".
It kept getting stuck pon what appeared to b somr corrupt
    clipart.
I deleted the gifs, but the folder won't go away.
Long story short, it won't "speedisk" past 23%, and I dead the
    big "defrag".
I'm hoping I can rename some folders and then OE will magically
    work.
I"ve ben using Nut scape Messenger since the early 90's.
    since 1.0.
wnated to learn OE and jsut get used to it.
I have a new 200G Hd (gifted to me) to put in,
but have been procrastinating it (after Xmas maybe).
I hate installing formatting and software.
    And my hardware is "ancient."
    Cash poor right now, too.
Well so the OE looks lke it's opening. the AIM  starts. The AOL
page comes up and then OE goes away.
It's not inthe Tasl Manager either.
It's gone. It keeps showing 10 messsages in teh inbox. the
folders are virtually empty, so its not that.
I never used it expect for once in a blue moon to "check it out".
Is it corrupt? Do I "have to" defrag "now"?
Well I do have to defrag, I know.
But why do it for the OE if something else will work faster?
I wanna defrag after I fix OE. Can I ?
    Anybody know?
