The above notwithstanding:
- I wouldn't think MS04-040 would have been pushed via Automatic Updates
until just within the past hour (20:00 UTC).
- MS04-040 does not apply to WinXP SP2
- OE (as well as all other Windows-based applications, including
anti-virus) should always be closed prior to installing anything, including
Windows updates.
