Thanks Norman and Frank.

Beer with me... I think what you are seeing is a default 404 page
that Microsoft has set up. It doesn't state 404 anywhere... it's
a server side thing where pages that are no longer found are
sent to a default page, even though the address line stays the
same. To demonstrate that, change the 2443.htm to 100.htm
or some other item.

I am taken to a page that states:

"We’re sorry, but there is no Microsoft.com Web page
matching your entry. It is possible that you typed the address
incorrectly, or that the page no longer exists. You may wish
to try another entry or to use the links below, which we hope
will help provide you with the information you need."

It doesn't look like a dead link until you actually read it. :-)

Is that what you are seeing?

That is not a "bug", as in a software problem. I believe your best option is
to contact the site webmaster; assuming that MSFT has a contact on the page.

It is not broken in Firefox 1.0. The link took me to the page without a
problem.
