Since you are new to computers, I will advise to you take care to
differentiate between Outlook and Outlook Express. They are two entirely
different programs, and you should not use "Outlook" as an abbreviation for
"Outlook Express".

Tools > Options > General, and put a check in the box next to the line:
"When starting, go directly to my 'Inbox' folder".
