ah, okay, well that might be it then... though I did get it to work a

create this new identity online or in OE? seems like you mean in OE
but not sure.

I uninstalled both Outlook Express AND the update, and OE would still
open up.. I then went to the windows update site and reinstalled the
update and even though OE is still not showing it installed the
update, which I then later uninstalled again.... so now I have no
reference to OE in the Add/Remove list.

Help/about = v6, and I don't know what version the MSOE.DLL is, I'll
check that on Monday also.

Thanks, but I feel like I have to muddle through... it's getting
clearer as I work with it.. XP just puts things in different places
and different names than I'm used to it seems...
I appreciate the help getting me through this..
