For XP, try WinSock XP Fix
(http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html), though the SP2
rebuild/reset winsock should work.
Bob, was your anti-virus app running when you installed SP2? Does
uninstalling SP2 make any difference? Do/did you have a P2P file sharing
app on the machine?
