We are seeing indications that it may be 90 days now. See my question.

Want all you like, you have no rights to tell the newsserver what to
do...but you can tell OE:
Create a rule stating, "Where the message was Sent more than xx days ago,
Delete it." Do not enable the rule to be applied automatically but then run
it manually when you want to delete headers/messages from OE.
