How are you connoting to the Internet? Via a dial-up or corporate LAN or something else?

Are you using Outlook Express for mail? Is that working OK?

If you have a firewall installed (e.g. Zone Alarm, Norton System Works, etc.), check its
settings and error logs to make sure that is it not blocking your news program.
