I have this same problem on two laptops, one running Windows XP Media Center
Edition 2004 SP2 and one running Windows XP Professional SP2. They both are
pretty identical. I installed Norton Internet Security 2005 on both of them
about a week ago and I am having a problem with the msimn.exe process. These
processes keep on building up in the task manager and eat up my system
resources on both computers. At one point, I had about 20 msimn.exe listed in
the task manager. On one of my laptops, when I click a link to a webpage in
an e-mail, it will load the page but lock up if I try to do anything on that
webpage. IE never locks up except when I loaded it from a link in OE. Another
other IE window active will still run normally. I have run Pest Patrol and
AdAware on both and removed any spyware. Does anybody have any solutions for
me to try? It is a really annoying problem. Thanks for any help or
suggestions!
