Des, I resent that assertion about my attitude!

I took the trouble to rebuild your three part attachment, and saw that your
Avast e-mail scanner was listed as a specific running process,
'ashMaiSv.exe'

I suggested you turn it off.

Not being a user of Avast AV I was not aware at the time, that the
particular application was a required start-up item,
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php?filter=ashMaiSv
Mail scanning disabled or no.

I did more research in an attempt to try to help you!!

That is when I found your previous posts.

In which you said:

"Following your suggestions I ran a series of virus and Trojan scans on
my machine and some of them found the dreaded ATPartners.dll tucked away
in there. Although none of the scan programs could rectify the problem,
once identified I was able to delete it.

So far (touch wood) the problem has not recurred, so hopefully you
nailed it.
Thanks for your help."

That is why I still think it could be an important contributor to your
problem?

The fact that the problem went away after the removal of ATPartners.dll &
then returned, is something we needed to be told!

This response is not a "snide remark" either.

I hope with the contributions of PA Bear & Steve Cochran, that the answer is
found?

But in the mean time I would suggest you see:

Post the results in the appropriate forum, for best results.

Best of luck with the problem.

Please reconsider your response alluding to me & respond again.
