Every time I close Outlook Express, an alert dialogue box pops up with
the following message:

"To free up disk space, Outlook Express can compact
messages. This may take a few minutes."

It includes a check box with the correspondence "Don't show me this
gain."
and 'OK' and 'CANCEL' options.

I don't want my messages compacted. I have checked the box for "Don't
show me this again," and selected the 'CANCEL' option, but it
continues to display this message every time I close OE. Does anyone
know how I can keep this message from being displayed and yet not
compact my messages? It's as though it won't go away until I press
'OK.'

I am running Windows XP with SP2, Office 2003, and IE6 with SP1. This
problem didn't arise until this morning when I installed GDI+
detection update, .NET Framework 1.1 SP1, .NET Framework 1.0 SP3, and
Office SP1.
