But was it ever the identity named Main Identity which OE started using by
default the very first time? Did you create this identity via
File>Identities>Add New Identity or did you rename an already existing
identity?
==> Create a new Named Identity /now/ and import all folders from your
current identity into it. After all is well, delete the old identity (or
identities if there are others you no longer use) via File>Identities>Manage
Identities.

*What* "Windows Uninstall?" As this thread's been <snipped> to death, did
you mention this before?
You're a tampabay.rr.com subscriber:
1. Are your problem newsgroups all accessed using the RR newsserver?
2. Did you wonder if your area's recent bout of (to put it mildly) inclement
weather might have had anything to do with your machine's problems (-> power
failures)? ...with RR's problems (-> ditto and then some)?

See my recent reply to thread "Re: newsreader, why can't I download a
certain week of messages?"

WinXP SP2, front & center for a horse-whipping! <g> Yep, SP2 enables that
option by default and sets it to five (5) days IIRC. See my previous reply
here.

<ouch> Can't say what you might have done there, Jimbo.

<double ouch> "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

*Why?* [Do not answer that.]

*What* scrollbar problems? [Ditto]
You /may/ wanna consider starting from scratch and beginning a brand new
thread, giving us the whole history of these multitude problems with a
complete and thorough time-line which also includes hurricanes and their
aftermaths in your area, Jim. Crosspost it to WinXP General, too.
