Feel free to post back to this thread for more help using DBXtract, DBXtend
or DBXpress, OS. Be aware that the DBX file may be so damaged that you will
not be able to recover any messages.
The tool should extract messages to your chosen Windows folder (suggest the
desktop folder you've created). Do not extract them to your store folder.
Once extracted, you may drag the messages from the desktop folder to any
open OE folder with your mouse.
Most of us, MVPs included, learned about OE's Ins 'n Outs and frailties just
as you are now: by making mistakes and suffering the consequences. You're
in good company here.
