OE6 throws away newsgroup postings

When I'm done reading a news group and leaves it, I've set OE up to mark all
remaining headers as read. It usually works fine, but sometimes it leaves
some unread. It marks the newsgroup name with bold and a number of unread
postings in parentheses. If I return to the newsgroup, I can't see any
unread.

But I can find threads that miss postings when comparing to Google groups or
just by the fact that I can see people answering postings I don't have in my
list.

I don't have any filters set up. Am I the only one with this problem?? It's
been bugging me for a long time!
