I posted before on the issue of not seeing graphics properly on the IE 6
newsgroup. All the replies and tries are pasted below.
I have tried all Jans Il suggestions listed below with no luck. I cannot get
imiges to display properly on IE 6 or on Outlook 6 when a html page comes in
with a gif or jpg.
It's like looking at a 16 or 32 bit graphic in 256 color mode. All the
high-end colors are missing, smeared and blurred, but the image is there..
I tried reinstalling IE 6 and it does not want me to reinstall if all
componants are there already, so I exited out of the reinstall.
What's next to do to solve this. Some file must of got corrupt or damaged on
the IE crach.
I haven't done any registry changes.
Netscape and Mozilla are clear crisp images, so it's strictly a IE 6 /
Outlook / Windows problem.
All was well until Explorer crashed the other night. Then this graphic blurr
arrived on both Outlook and EI 6.

Since you do not mention necessary information such as the version of
Windows or IE you are using, I can only make a general suggestion. You might
try the following and see if it helps:
Red X Instead of Images - Can't see or save Images/Pictures
Fuzzy Text and fuzzy web graphics
Change the DPI setting from Large to Normal and see if that helps.
I can't see JPG's or GIFS any more - red x - images missing - fuzzy
images/distorted images

or..........
Try clearing the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and
delete offline content.)
also try...................
Pictures Do Not Show
http://www.fjsmjs.com/IE/redx.htm
or............................
Right click on the graphic you see and a pop up menu should appear. Select
"Show Picture" option.
Then, go to Internet Options>Advanced Tab
Show Pictures - check option if
unchecked to display pictures all the time.
or

How to Activate Scaling
Internet Explorer 6 and later automatically adjusts the scale on higher
resolution systems when the DPI setting is higher than 96 DPI and the
"UseHR" registry value is added to the registry. These are usually done by
the manufacturers of higher resolution systems.
Set the DPI
These are the steps for changing the DPI setting on your system.
Right-click the Windows desktop to display the context menu.
Click Properties on the context menu to display the Display Properties
dialog.
Click the Settings tab on the Display Properties dialog to display the
Settings tab.
Click the Advanced button on the Settings tab to display the monitor
properties dialog.
Select a DPI setting in the Display frame of the monitor properties dialog
to change the DPI setting.
Restart your system to allow the changes to take effect.
Run REGEDIT to add the UseHR Registry Entry
The UseHR value is added to the Main key under "Internet Explorer" as
follows:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Internet Explorer
Main
UseHR= dword:00000001

If the solution from Dell support works for you, don't bother with the
registry fix from msdn.
If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.
Hope this helps
