Email scanning is a waste of time. Even Norton used to publicly admit this
on their website (they have now removed the info) and it was installed only
because it made users "feel good." It does nothing but waste CPU cycles,
causes timeout errors with mail servers and causes other problems for mail
users, some of which are outlined in the link below.
Ad-aware only runs when you request it to do so. It is not a problem with
sending or receiving mail.
