Firewall not blocking port 25? Turn off XP's firewall and test with it.
Also, check the router to see if maybe it's blocking it. Usually just open
Internet Explorer and type in http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.0.0
depending upon what the router uses (Linksys is 0.1 and DLink is 0.0 I
believe).
Out of the box, the router usually works okay. So far I've had no problems
setting them up for people. I"ve got one client that uses her laptop to
connect via Remote Desktop to her desktop computer so she can work and still
be seen by the kids instead if being hidden away in her office. Got another
one that likes to take her laptop outside and her husband uses the desktop
computer and they're both online then.
If all is well there, create a new Identity in OE
File | Identity | Manage Identities
Set up the account in it and switch to it. Then test it to read for email
then. It may not be the server name that is the problem but something in the
Internet Accounts Manager. With creating the new Identity, you create a new
Internet Accounts Manager in the Identities subkey for that Identity and
don't use the old location (well, IMAP still does) but this will at least
give us something to test against especially if you have an Internet
connection.
You may have to manually connect to the library but it should auto-detect
the link. If not, the library can help you further on that.
