Very murky waters, here.

IIRC sharing being enable by default is dependent on the OL or Office
version installed, not the OE version. And as Tom points out, Tools>Share
contacts with Outlook will not be found in OE6.

In this and other OE-specific newsgroups, we've seen countless posts from
users who found that sharing was enabled by default with the install of OL
or Office 97 thru 2003, Bill. Recently those who installed Office 2003 SP1
also discovered that sharing had been enabled afterwards.

And I agree with you that sharing is *not* supposed to be enabled by default
(cf. http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/oeshare.htm) but tell that to posters
here.
