Re: msimn.exe won't quit

Jim, compaction is turned off.

Even tried a brand new identity and problem started immediately. Right after
first exit and log off, couldn't reopen OE6 with going into Task Mgr and
stopping the msimn process manually.

Its not that msimn.exe is shutting down, problem is that it not shutting
down. Do a "exit and log off identity" and msimn.exe won't quit.

Now with respect to McAfee, PC did originally come with a McAfee 90day trial
2 years ago. After 90days never paid for subscription, and deleted it.
Wonder if there's some remnants of it in there somewhere causing the
headache?
