Instead of deleting these see if you can mark them as Ignored threads.
Then in order to avoid seeing them all you need to do is create a View
which hides Ignored threads and use it regularly. Ignored threads
propagate in the same way that Watched threads do so the net result
would be completely hidden threads and subthreads--at least until you
switched your View back to Show All Messages. ;)
