Try turning off the router for 5 minutes by unplugging it from the power
circuit, then turn it back on and let it run its self test and diagnostic
program. You should be able to review your router settings using Internet
Explorer although you will have to check the default address and password to
access its settings in the manuals you got with it. Then make sure that
port 25 is open bi directionally.

If Zone Alarm was installed, it should appear under Start/All Programs and
also check in Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs that it is not installed
(or is available to be uninstalled). Beyond that, try connecting directly
from your internet cable hookup to your cable modem, then directly to your
computer to check that the router is not part of the problem.
