Insert the XP CD into the old computer. Use the files and settings transfer
wizard on the XP CD, (assuming your new computer is coming with XP) in the
"Perform additional tasks" menu. Select "this is the old computer". Deselect
everything but Outlook Express. Run the wizard. This will create a folder
called USMT2.IMG or something like that, with an image that can be restored
at any time by transferring the folder to another computer via network or
burning it to a CD. Run the wizard again, this time selecting "this is the
new computer" (on the new computer obviously) and point it to the folder on
the network drive or CD you have burnt.
Then Robert is very much your mother's brother.
