I use QuoteFix to make it easier to attribute quoted text to
the proper poster & to save time re-aligning the text that goes
beyond the end of the previous line.
I read several sports NGs, and often someone will post
stats in columns that don't line up properly. This happened
Monday. One reply complained/commented that a poster
made this mistake. At least 3 others replied to that, claiming
that it lined up perfectly at their end. Each claimed that the
problem was the font setting in OE at the complainer's end.
I tried the various suggested font settings, and still couldn't
get the stat columns to line up. (I've never tinkered with the
font settings despite seeing so many posts here about fonts.)
Trouble is, I can't remember what settings I had under
Tools/Options/Read/Fonts before I started "tinkering" to try
to fix it. I know I had the font Size at "Smaller" and the
Encoding at Western European. But what about the Fixed-
Width and Proportional Fonts?
I still can't line up the "stat" columns & now QuoteFix
doesn't change the color of the different quoted text! All
text is the same color (usually black) and I don't need it
to be so large/bold to see it. I'm trying to figure out what
default settings I had before & get QuoteFix to make the
colors of each poster different to make it easier to tell
them apart.
Any suggestions? I'm using Windows 98, OE6 with
all the updates, etc. All I've tinkered with is the font
settings, so no other software should matter.
