You mostly can't; though there are ways to use MSOE to slow it down.

Funny, my Netscape account has no junk controls whatsoever. However, the
Netscape 7.1 mail client does have an excellent integrated Naive Bayesian
spam filter.

Not the best reason to use a mail client. I use Mozilla 1.6 for my browser,
but I don't use it's integrated mail and news client. For mail I am running
Pegasus Mail (MUA)in conjunction with Mercury Mail (MTA). For news I mostly
use Super Gravity (MicroPlanet Gravity 2.60), but occasionally run Forté
Free Agent for times when I need good Unicode support.

You run a third party Naive Bayesian filter. Two of the best are K9 and
POPFile:
