cannot resize OE window

When OE opens, the first window (inbox, etc.) is not
outlined in blue and I cannot drag the sides of the
window to resize it. I'm running the same version (win
Xp home--OE 6) on my laptop and that window can be
resized like any other. Can anybody help me here? thanks
