Norman, Thanks again for the information. That was very interesting.

Bigfoot acknowledged yesterday that they are having a problem with Hotmail.

"Thank you for bringing this unfortunate incident to our attention.
We regret any problems you have encountered with receiving emails.
We did have some problems forwarding mails to hotmail and msn
accounts but we are working on this problem as we speak. Our mail
servers encountered a heavy load but it was only a temporary situation.
Because of the number of backlog and current mails we were sending
out some mail service providers (like hotmail, msn etc) blocked mails
coming from our IP address. This is a natural reaction and helps deter
spamming. But the block is only temporary and once it is lifted mails
will flow through normally again. Our sincerest apologies for the
inconvenience this situation has caused you."

I have used Bigfoot since it first became available and this is the first
time
I remember ever having a problem with them. Great service.

Juno has free and pay services now. I have been with them since they were a
dial-up free email only service. However, the email they provide now is
still in the dark ages. I do get my Juno email using POP3; however to send
mail
I have to use their proprietary email program due to them blocking port 25.
They were one of the initiators or the port 25 blocking. If I use the JUNO
email
program they load ads on my PC and then when I start JUNO I have to
acknowledge the ads in order for it to start. I learned how to delete the
ads
and I avoid their email in order not to get more ads. Thus, I have unlimited
56K
access without banners or ads for $5 month. Their connections are better
than
all other major dial-up services I have used and or trialed. I trial others
ever
so often for comparison purposes. The $5 rate promo came years ago when
they first provided internet services and thus far they have not chosen to
bump
that rate. The normal rate is $15 for fast cached unlimited dial-up.

Yahoo UK is like you say; however, Yahoo SG provides free POP3 and SMTP
and the new Discardable addresses and much more for free that Yahoo US is
charging for. Works very well. Yahoo SG has other advantages as well.

Thanks again for all the information. I really appreciate it.

Tom

These groups are for discussion of matters directly related to Microsoft
products, and their use. MSN Insternet service and MSN Hotmail,
unfortunately, are services, not products, and only indirectly related to
the help you can get here. Unless you can contact MSN directly, I know of
know other source of help than what is available online while logged into
the service. And I do not see a workaround if MSN is directly blocking
Bigfoot. Maybe you can get Bigfoot staff to communicate with Hotmail staff.
