Method 2 in the KB article 318378 will work for all operating sytems (except
for Windows 95) and is recommended as the best way to uninstall/reinstall.
Once again, the usual suspect is some type of spyware infecting the computer
after browsing sites on the internet. CWShredder does a good job of
removing these, along with Adaware and Spybot. Your post is silent about
your having used any of those products. Also, be aware that when
reinstalling IE/OE, you *must* first disable any installed antivirus program
to avoid corrupting the install.
