I'm getting some reports that you should also turn off email scanning in AVG as well.

Hi Frank. Yeah I know what you mean by TrendMicro's, Norton's, and
McAfee's emailer AV scanners. As all they do is just cause problems. The
reason for this is because they modify your POP and SMTP server
information. Although AVG doesn't play this game with its email scanner.
And I have never had a problem with it.
