Well, not knowing what you did or how good you are at understanding whats
needed to do a an install/upgrade of software, especially the operating
system, it's hard to say what to do.
You back up anything? Clean the system up a bit before the upgrade such as
clearing out old messages, deleting them, compacting the message stores,
clearing out the Temporary Internet Files and Temp folders followed by a
good scandisk and defrag?
I would attempt to restore it to the previous OS, clean up the system a bit,
backup a few things then upgrade. If you're trying to fix a problem by
installing an update/upgrade, the chances are going to be that it will only
make it worse once completed. If the software itself is the problem, an
upgrade will still need to have a few precautions taken such as backing up
the data associated with the program.
With an OS upgrade, you need to do a lot more work to prepare the system for
the upgrade.
